ANCORA UPDATE: 10/13/12

Hi, everyone!

There is so much happening right now as things ramp up and our concert dates get ever closer! Please read to the end of the email to catch the latest updates. I’ve tried to highlight new information…

Elections
It’s October and time to hold board elections again. The following is a list of your current board and which positions are open/up for re-election:

Co-President – Amy
Co-President – Open
Treasurer – Jenny
Secretary – Riley (willing to continue)
Librarian – Molly
Member at large – Elizabeth Widdison (willing to continue)
Member at large – Didi

If you are interested in being on the board (it’s a great group!), please nominate yourself, or if you would like to nominate someone else, please do so. We will hold the elections before the end of the month.

Caroling opportunity
A private accounting company has solicited the Figgy Pudding network looking for carolers at their holiday party on Friday, December 7th. It would be 20-30 minutes of music (probably the same repetoire we’ll do on the 6th for the luncheon). Is anyone interested? If so, I’ll respond and see if they’re still looking for a group, otherwise we’ll just let this one pass. I’m not sure of the remuneration.

Ancora’s Holiday Party and Sing-along!
On Thursday, December 13th we’re having a party! Molly has offered up her home in Shoreline for the event, which will start at 7:30. Former Ancora members and SGC alums are also welcome! Bring your carol book and come sing and celebrate the season. Please BYOB and food to share. Signifcant others are welcome as well, but they need to be prepared for some serious choir geeking!

FACEBOOK
Riley has set up a banner advertisement for Ancora on Facebook….DON’T CLICK ON IT! We have paid for a certain number of “clicks” (I’m not sure how that works) and we want OTHER PEOPLE to click on it, not just us because we think it’s cool. :)

That’s as much as I know! You’ll be getting more information regarding the Kickstarter campaign as that gets launched, and see below for more recording dates info. (good news for your weekend plans!).

And finally, a HUGE THANK YOU to all of the people who are working hard to make our Apocalypse concert come together! To Lara for all of our graphic work (posters have gone to press!), to Riley for our website and Kickstarter campaign, to Tess for her narrations, vision and direction, to Ashley and Matilda for handling all of the production details (lights! costumes! effects!), to Jeremiah for arranging the space for our recording in January…and on and on!

If you have a response to any of the above, please send it to me directly (no need to “reply all”).
I love singing with all of you!

*Amy
