Auditionees will be asked to do the following:

1. Vocalizing to assess range and properties of voice

2. Ear training/testing

3. Intervals

4. Identification of key signatures, notations, and symbols

5. Interpreting 2 pieces (described below)

6. Grasping pronunciation of different languages

Prepare only measures 1 – 36 of the Magnificat by Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina (Latin) and measures 1 – 36 of Laudi alla Vergine Maria by Giuseppe Verdi (Italian).

Please choose from among the four parts (SSAA) based on what you feel best represents your choral range.

You will be asked to sing the excerpts a capella, with appropriate pitch and lead-ins given.

Ancora rehearses on Thursday nights, 7:15-9:30, on Capitol Hill. Ample free parking is available..
